While living in Brooklyn, Olives Been Busy was started as a side project for a creative escape from all things city, while working a full-time position at a high end contract textile company. Kara’s love for fine design and the stockpiling of beautiful fabrics, led her to experiment with channels that would allow for the use of these fabrics to be on display in an interior setting. Her work has always been influenced by the intricate and meticulous, and each assemblage is carefully composed using a repetition of shape and color.
Kara received by BFA in Fiber Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design in 1998 and MFA from the University of California, Davis is 2001.
She currently resides in Peekskill NY with her husband, 2 dogs and 2 cats. Please inquire to purchase or for custom artwork.
